This book is written as per New syllabus pattern prescribed by S.B.T.E. for 6th Semester (3rd Year) Diploma in Civil Engineering Students. Topics are on Introduction, Limit State Design and Design of Connections and Detailing. Design of Tension Member by L.S.M., Design of Compression Members and Column Bases by L.S.M., Slab base and Gusseted base, Design of Flexural Members for BM and SF by L.S.M. and Steel Roof Truss and Plastic Analysis. The various topics dealt in this book are concise and self-contained with maximum possible pictorial illustrations for easy understanding and clear conception.

While writing this book efforts have been made to make this book student oriented. The subject matter has been presented in simple language and illustrated by incorporating a good number of solved, unsolved and well-graded examples which have been asked in earlier S.B.T.E. Examinations. All the chapters are enlarged and huge number of problems which were asked in MSBTE examinations are solved and at the end of each chapter an exercise is given which will quench the thirst of knowledge of students preparing for the examination as well as for the completion of term work by their own efforts. We feel profound pleasure that the key for solution for almost each and every problem in exercise is given at the end for which lot of pains have been taken.
