काळाकभिन्न’ काळोख आणि त्यातूनच होणारा मनुष्याचा जन्म ! मग ‘टाहो’ फोडत या ‘आटपाट नगरी’त होणारा जीवनाचा प्रवास ! या प्रवासात मिळतात आई-वडिल, नातेवाईक, सखे-सोबती. जीवन फुलत जातं. वळणावर भेटते ‘सहेलियोंकी बाडी’. मन गुंग होतं. स्तिमित होतं. ‘अल्याड-पल्याड’ची जाणीव राहत नाही. मग कधीतरी मनुष्याचा उबग येतो आणि यंत्रं मित्र होतात. ‘मी आणि चॅमी’ मौत्री जुळते. ‘हरवले आहेत’ या मथळ्याखाली जेव्हा नावांची यादी फोटोंसकट वर्तमानपत्रांतून वाचनात येते तेव्हा ‘वस्तुस्थिती’ची जाणीव होते. मनुष्य आणि मनुष्य जातींची आपापसातली नाती म्हणजे केवळ ‘हिशोब’ होऊन राहतात. शरीर आणि मन म्हातारं होतं. रिकामंही होतं, कारण आता काय शोधायचं हा प्रश्न आऽ वासून उभा राहतो. रिकाम्या वेळेचा चाळा म्हणून अनेक वर्षं धूळ खात पडलेला ‘अल्बम’ बाहेर काढला जातो आणि त्या पिवळ्या पडत जाणा-या फोटोंमधून आठवणींचं इंद्रधनुष्य स्वत:च्या बालपणाच्या याऽऽ टोकापासून ते स्वत:च्या मुलांच्या तारुण्याच्या त्याऽऽ टोकापर्यंत अर्धगोल उमटतं. अंधुकसं, धूसरसं, चष्म्याच्या काचा थेंबाथेंबाने ओलावत !
