About the Book :

The subject of ‘Electrical Engineering’ has been introduced as one of the core subjects in the revised curriculum prescribed by the State Board of Technical Education, Jharkhand for Second Year Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering with effect from the academic year 2017-18. This book is exclusively written to serve as a text-book for this subject.
The subject matter in the book is arranged as per new SBTE curriculum.

The system international of units (S.I.) is used throughout the book.
A considerable number of worked examples are included in each chapter to enable the students to understand the electrical principles thoroughly. Each chapter is concluded with ‘Points to remember’ and ‘Important formulae at a glance’. Numerical examples (with solutions) and classified theory questions (for self-study) based on equivalent diploma examination papers are added at the end of each chapter to enhance the utility of the book. I am sure that the student fraternity as well as faculty members of the polytechnics will find the book extremely useful.
