Forensic science is a highly relevant field which primarily involves crime and its investigation. Currently forensic investigators are highly sought after. To fulfill the required human resource many new institutions have been established which are aiming to train the aspirants to make career in this field. These institutes or organizations select the aspirants mainly through various MCQs based competitive examinations. In course of our regular teaching, we recognized that to successfully solve these Multiple Choice based questionnaires it is essential for students to have suitable resource material. We found that there is a dearth of study material and resources available for aspirants willing to crack these examinations. Hence, we came up with a solution in the form of the present book. It has been written keeping view of all forensic science competitive aspirants such as undergraduate and postgraduate students of Forensic science, Law, Forensic medicine, and medical students. Moreover, this book also aims to help aspirants to understand the pattern and depth of questions being asked in the state and national level examinations. The student needs to be aware of the recent trends in this field and designs of questions.
We have compartmentalized this book in four sections.
In section 1, we have included unit-wise questions. It contains the individual chapters from the field of DNA analysis, Forensic entomology, Forensic botany, Forensic microbiology, Fingerprint analysis, Forensic chemistry and toxicology, Advanced forensic biology, Body fluid identification, Cybercrime, Forensic anthropology, Dentistry and Taphonomy, Question documents and Forensic analytical methods. Questions contained in this section have been designed like the pattern that is used in Forensic Science-NET, MH-SET, GRE, FACT, Medical Entrance, UPSC and MPSC examinations.
Section 2 and 3 includes solved papers of UGC-NET and MH-SET respectively.
Whereas section 4 contains previous years’ questions from different entrance examinations along with their answers. At the end of this book, we have intentionally included the practice
question papers which will help the reader to measure the level of their understanding. All these sections are concise yet comprehensive in covering true concept and application based on factual and synthetic questions. This will develop an in-depth understanding of the subject and the learner will be able to assess the gained knowledge.
